The rail bike in Jeongseon is great fun, great exercise and a big breath of fresh air. It combines biking along a railway and amazing scenery to make your trip worthwhile. Rail bikes are more commonly found in the mountainous regions of Europe. Jeongson used to be a mining area and so therefore there is tracks all over the mountains and these days are used as a abandoned railway track for tourists that runs from Auraji Lake to Gujeol-ri. The total track is 7.2 km long and is a continuous descent that is easy to ride along clean valley waters and attention grabbing nature. There are 2-person and 4-person rail bikes . Despite its bulky dimensions, a rail bike runs quite smoothly so it is even possible for one person to pedal a 4-person rail bike at speeds of 10 to 30 km/h.
At the boarding area in Gujeol-ri Station, there is a café named ‘A Grasshopper’s Dream.’ Housed in a train, the café is crafted to the shape of a grasshopper. The rail bike starts in Gujeol-ri station and ends in Auraji Station. Ride at a slow speed of 15kph to enjoy the surrounding scenery. On the way back, you will return to Gujeol-ri on a free train for a comfortable ride with a view to enjoy while your legs recover. 
The price for a 2-seater bike is 25,000won per person and if part of a group then it is 22,500 won, so you can enjoy a small discount. For the 4-seater bike option it is 35,00won per person and 31,500won for a group. As for the hours it operates, it might be wise to take note of the following.
March to October: 9:00 – 18:00, 5 times a day (8:40, 10:30, 13:00, 14:50, 16:40)
November to February 9:00 – 15:00, 4 times a day (8:40, 10:30, 13:00, 14:50)

Passengers must arrive on the boarding point at Gujeol-ri Station 20 min. before the bike’s schedule.
If you intend to go by bus then from Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, take an intercity bus bound for Jeongseon Intercity Bus Terminal. Travel takes about 3hrs 20 minutes approx. Then from there, take a taxi to the railbike boarding point, Gujeol-ri Station. Travel time is approx 40 minutes.
